Position/Title: Shipping & Receiving Technician

Schedule: Full Time

Position Purpose: 

The primary purpose of the Shipping & Receiving Technician is to assist with the inbound and outbound shipment of goods, validate that correct items are delivered intact for manufacturing purposes, and to ensure that finished goods are efficiently shipped to meet customer requirements at the lowest cost standards. The role is a valuable contributor to the success of supply chain management and customer service initiatives. 

Essential Scope of Functions: 

·         Enters data into QAD ERP System from various source documents for receipts and shipments.

·         Assists in maintaining an efficient daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly filing system for shipping/receiving documentation and other relevant departmental records in adherence to best practices.

·         Process documents for parcel shipments utilizing UPS and FED EX and supply tracking information as requested.

·         Provide assistance in scheduling OEM outbound freight according to customer specifications.

·         Route inbound shipments as needed through 3PL or other requested transport mode.

·         Support the Shipping & Receiving team in creating packing lists and BOL documents for shipments in TMS, record all pertinent information, and close shipments to transmit ASN to OEM customers when shipments depart from our location.

·         Track delayed shipments. In the event of damaged, defective, or lost goods, document the issues, and report occurrences to supervisor/manager.

·         Responds to inquiries regarding accounts payable, delivery receipts, receiving errors, etc.

·         Actively engage in tasks delegated by Materials Manager, Supervisor, or other peers.

·         All other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Training

·         High school diploma or GED required.

·         An associate or bachelor’s degree in business or other relevant field and/or APICS certification is a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications

·         A minimum of two years of experience working in an administrative support environment, preferably with experience in logistics, warehouse, and shipping/receiving operations.

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

·         Capable of coordinating multiple projects concurrently.

·         Proficient keyboard /data entry skills.

·         Excellent organizational/planning skills required.

·         Effective time management skills.

·         Possess ambition and motivation to see tasks through to completion independently. 

·         Embody excellent interpersonal skills when exchanging information with suppliers, customers, and coworkers at all levels.

·         Professionalism and integrity to communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization while strictly adhering to policies regarding confidential information.

·         Results-oriented with a strong sense of personal accountability.
