Education and Training

• Must have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Have education and/or career focus on structural engineering and rigid body dynamics.

Minimum Qualifications

• Have two or more years of experience in industrial product design (preferably automotive or commercial vehicle related, preferably suspension related).
• Solid Modeling experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Must be fluent with SolidWorks 3D CAD software (or similar, and trainable on SolidWorks).
• Must be skilled at defining free-body diagrams
• Must be skilled at defining and solving equations of motion of dynamic systems, using
• hand calculations and mathematical tools such as Matlab and Maple (or similar and trainable on Matlab and Maple).
• Must be able to create solid models and sketches to communicate design intent.
• Must be skilled at conducting stress analysis (FEA) on concept designs using Hypermesh (or similar, and trainable on Hypermesh).
• Must be skilled at identifying, documenting and mitigating failure modes (FMEA).
• Must be able to think creatively.
• Must possess good planning and prioritizing skills.
• Must be able function well within a design team and coordinate well with others.
• Must be able to interact successfully with other associates in a professional manner.
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
• Must have ability to read and review written communication.
• Have speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.    
• Ability to think strategically and solve problems.

Physical Demands

• Physical Requirements (standing, lifting, repetitive tasks)

Environmental Conditions

• Exposure to extreme heat and extreme cold while in the plant.

Behavioral Traits

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
