Position Purpose:
Responsible for moving material throughout the plant.
Hourly or Salary Range: $17.75 - $20.75
Essential Functions:
· Maintain Environmental, Health and Safety standards in the workplace
· Operate forklift and all other material handling equipment assigned to the department
· Moves material to all operations throughout the department
· Follows run list as written by the supervisor
· Distribute work orders as needed
· Unload and load trucks as needed
· Works well independently and with supervision and co-workers
· Willingness to run other machines when needed such as but not limited to Heat Treat, Hobbs & Rack Roller
· Always work in a safe manner
· Always keep work area clean
· Other duties as assigned
Education and Training:
· High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Qualifications:
· Certified to drive a forklift and other material handling equipment as needed
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Basic math skills
Physical Demands:
· Ability to drive a forklift continuously for 8 – 12 hours
· Ability to work in tight places
· Ability to work outdoors for an extended period in extreme weather conditions
· Ability to lift 20 pounds repetitively
· Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally
· Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively
· Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
· Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
· Visual (with correction) sufficient to read work orders and packing slips and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer
· Demonstrate dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations
Environmental Conditions:
· Exposure to a noisy work environment
· Exposure to hot and humid conditions
· Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water
· Ear and Eye protection always required in all production areas
· Steel toe boots with metatarsal guards required in production area
