Maintenance Technician- 1st Shift

Position Purpose:

Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance on various types of presses, conveyors, and other associated equipment.

Hourly pay range: $26.15 - $36.54

Essential Functions:

  • Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs on all production equipment.
  • Reads and interprets equipment prints/manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance repairs and service.
  • Performs all scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Performs all lubrication and filtration duties on all equipment assigned.
  • Performs project maintenance as assigned.
  • Communicates at all levels within the company - Department Manager, Supervisors and Operators as well as with all members of the maintenance department.

Education and Training

  • High School Diploma or GED and related technical training.
  • Minimum of five (5) years On the Job maintenance training and experience in a factory equipment environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and some electrical applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals and work orders.
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment, welders and have own hand tools.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and work independently.
  • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
  • Heavy press equipment experience is a plus.

 

 Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, reach, crouch and bend.
  • Frequently required to bend and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Frequently lift and or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders to perform various tasks.
  • Good eye / hand coordination and good motor skills. 
  • Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blueprints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer.

 

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to a noisy work environment.
  • Exposure to hot and humid conditions.
  • Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water.
  • Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas.
  • Steel toe boots are required at all times.
