Assembly
           Quality – product is assembled to meet internal and external specifications.
           Schedule – product is assembled in accordance with the Production Schedule due date.
           Training - employees are trained and qualified to perform the required assembly process.
Continuous Improvement – Lean Manufacturing
           Initiate lean manufacturing practices
           Assist in deploying a Continuous Improvement culture.
QAD / ERP Operating System
           Learn how to use QAD – MRP, Routings and Operation codes.
Production Standards
           Dept. labor hours are scheduled to meet QAD time study guidelines   
           MOS – production labor boards are maintained for visual verification.
           Work with ME Dept. to define labor standards.

 

Essential Functions:

           Plans and develops work schedules in the assembly departments via the Production Report. 
           Assures that all assembled products are driven from the Production Report and/or sales order and labeled with a bar code tag.
               Schedules the daily output to assure assembled products are staged two days prior to the shipping due dates.
           Will document errors on work orders and drawings and return to the Production Scheduling Dept. for document revisions.
           Will maintain OEM order schedules driven from weekly Production and Line Sequence Report(s).
           Will monitor PM sheets compliance to assure machines are operating at optimal performance.
           Assure that assembled products are packaged in a safe manner and per customer specific requirements.
           Oversee that inspections are taking place – first piece, in process and last piece, wheel end and the spindle torque process.
           Assure that inspection tool calibration is taking place and tools reveal current calibration sticker.
           Maintain employee time cards, perform employee reviews and approve vacation requests.
           Monitors the quality of assembled products using visual techniques, measurement tools and in process inspection report compliance.
           Assures that all responsible employees are following the company safety requirements.
           Maintain the house keeping activities in the assembly departments.
           Be an active participant in the safety program and make sure employees are in compliance.
           Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Training

           Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical area is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

           6 years of manufacturing / production experience is required.
           Supervisory experience is a plus
           Formal training in lean manufacturing, MRP systems and metal fabrication is a strong positive.
           Should demonstrate excellent problem solving, decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills.

 

 Physical Demands

           Physical Requirements (standing, lifting, repetitive tasks)

 

Environmental Conditions

           Exposure to extreme heat and extreme cold while in the plant.

 

Behavioral Traits

           Ability to work independently
           Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
